Cleanliness of pipes, as well as road pits, energy plant areas and modular enclosures, is accomplished by sealing pipes and cables. This prevents water, mud and feces from penetrating into pipes.
Furthermore, this also prevents rodents from nesting in pipes and damaging fiber optic cables and any other cables in the pipe.
The pipe must initially be cut at a 90 degree angle and then cleaned from any mud remains before simply inserting the stopper gland into the pipe. Pipes can be cut near the road pit wall.
If there is one or more cables already in the pipe, the stopper gland is cut at a marked fillister along its side, the cable is inserted into the opening and then everything is inserted into the pipe. For easier insertion the stopper gland can be greased with soap.
By combining larger and smaller stopper glands we can cover all possible cables from 5 mm to 60 mm in diameter.
For sealing water under pressure with stopper glands, sealing paste should be used. Place the opened stopper gland on the existing cable. After filling the opening with some paste, push the stopper gland into the pipe. The paste reacts with water and creates a foamy seal.
